Im Sorry .... Im an Idiot !!!

....thats actually what RicerBoy in his new Maxima said to me last nite !!

He pulled up to the red lite and hopped the car a few times to get my attention. I had the top down, Tunes crankin and didn't even bother to look over after noticing the hops. At the green, I was Gooooooooone getting out of it at in the middle of 2nd with his headlites merging into a single dot in the rearview --- 20 Bus lengths easy

At the next lite he didn't even want to roll up on me but it was a long one so he had to. Thats when I looked over and he said "Im Sorry....Im an Idiot !!"

This is where it REALLY gets funny - I remember reading here about someone Jumping the lite but breaking just to fake out the other guy and make him go before the green. I checked and there was no side traffic, so I figured lets see if he's right and hes really an Idiot o No: :laugh: :laugh:

I said "Lets try again....I'll give you the leave" so he gets all jacked up and ready ... the side lite turns red ... he's wound up like a spring .... and I Hop my car and brake.

.....Yep, he proved he's an Idiot as he raced across the intersection through a red lite :moonu: ou: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

 

Alan I hope you were watching out for his safety.... Because he was to worried about wooping up on you..... ou:

Great story though I don't understand why he apologized and called himself an idiot before he ran the red light. Buying a Maxima? Racing a GS400 with a Maxima? Racing on the street? Losing? Oh well. If I can manage a win with my heap the guy usually won't even look at me at the next light. That ricer at least had the guts to speak.

I ALMOST feel sorry for the little guy.In the 1st place he proved he was an idiot by even trying to start something.He's an idiot the 2nd time because he didn't learn his lesson the 1st time. :laugh: I still feel sorry for the little guy though..... :ball: :laugh:

By the way - was speaking to a guy Sat nite at Kohl's about the Good Ole Day's of Street Racing on L.I. - He's a buddy of Freddy Brown's ....

He was telling me about how they used to race all nite in their Chevy's at 109 thinking they were pretty darn fast ... until Some Old Guy in a BUICK would show up and Kick all their A$$es :laugh: :bglasses: :laugh:

I asked it was a White car ... and if the owner had a slight accent and he said YES !!

Julian, at the next meet we both attend PLEASE remind me NOT to introduce you to BrunoD who posted above. He's trouble with a capital "T" !!! but you'd never know it.....See, I was just like you when I first met him - content with my stock running, sweet looking Buick Convert !! I needed the motor rebuilt (was thinking stock-ish o No: ) and asked Bruno if he'd do it, being the "father" of all things Buick and FASTon L.I.

He said Sure !!! But, its going to take time and you will not be driving your Convert this summer - BUT !! I happen to have a FRESH 455" .030 over with stage1 heads sitting right here. It will probably cost MORE to have yours rebuilt anyways, and if you want my Son and I will install it for you !! He called me 2 days later. I thought it was to tell me they were going to start the next day (Sat). He said Come on over .... I want to show you something. What he showed me was that they had already ripped out the old and installed the new - ALL SET UP AND RUNNING !!

Now, 12 years later, I've been terrorizing the neighborhood for years and years, Drag Racing at the Track whenever possible, hanging out late at night, and trying every year to make my car a bit faster than before !!

Its ALL HIS FAULT !!! See how he works ?? Sneaky.....

Wow, I remember those glory days of street racing all nite on Long Island. I used live there back then.

Alan and Bruno were lightweights. There was a guy named Tufbuick back then who was so fast on the streets of Brooklyn and Queens that he took everyones money and paid for his new Grand National in 1 year. He then had to stay out of those areas because he outran the police and they had a bounty on him.

By the time he started to come out on Long Island he had his GN running deep in the 11s and knew every cheating trick in the book. I think that's about the time he unmercifully kicked Alans ass. Alan then decided to get even and called on Bruno to step up to the plate.

I remember this race like it was yesterday. Bruno was the undefeated street racer who was always picking on this guy that had a fast Hemi, I think his name was Feststeady or something like. Tufbuick shows up one night and asks who's the fastest car on Long Island. Alan pipes up and says my good friend Bruno.

Well after arguing all nite long they finally set-up the race. Bruno insisted on heads-up, muscle to muscle. Tufbuick is driving his mint GN and Bruno is driving his usual Rat Fake-Out Machine Rust Bucket Skylark. Open pipes, racing gas, slicks and VHT and the boys were ready.
The flag is dropped and Bruno pulls a massive 5 car holeshot on Tufbuick as Tufbuick is trying to get-up some boost. Tufbuick wound that turbo up to about 15 lbs and let her rip with a 1 foot wheelie on the street. He reeled Bruno in like he hit a brick wall.

At half track they were side by side closing in on the finish line when suddenly Bruno starts to make his move. He is now ahead of Tufbuick 1 car length and they are 100 feet from the finish line. All of a sudden a loud bang and a flash of fire comes out of Tufbuicks exhaust and he rockets past Bruno for the win.

Bruno swears Tufbuick sprayed him. After they look over every inch of the GN and find no juice Bruno reluctantly pays up. Meanwhile Alan is crying like a baby because he just lost $50 on that race.

To add insult to injury, Tufbuick walks past Alan with a stack of bills in his hand and says, "Cheat, Cheat and you never get Beat".

Those were the good old days.

Somebody out there keeps on dreaming.Hey Alan ,who is this guy tough buick?I guess he must have been out in the sun too long.Or maybe he is a dreamer?I was in front of him 3 car lengts and then he went by me?ha..ha.
Don't make me laugh.If I had raced you and I was in front of you,them 3 cars would have become 6 cars lengts.BrunoD.

 

I remember that race too. That guy Tuffbuick was a legend on L.I. & so was that guy Bruno! I forget who won but I do remember the guy with the Red 69 crying over the money that he lost.
