Came across this site and thought I'd join after reading some of the great info on it. I have a 64 Wildcat convertible that I bought a couple of years for $600 bucks and saved it from crushing. I am an novice and this is my first real project. With the help of sites like this and some mechanic friends, I rebuilt the seized 401 and just about everything else over the coarse of 2 years. The car hit the road last May with new body work, paint and a new top. There is a lot more I want to do to the car so I am looking forward to reading all the links and picking the brains of it's members. I am also considering another project in the next year or so and try as I may, I just can't get away from the potential of the older Buicks out there. Looks like a lot of nice cars on this site and I hope you don't mind my asking a lot about you'r particular models from time to time. Well, I'll be reading and writing, thanks in advance for any info you may pass along.- Kevin

Hi Kevin, and welcome to the world of Buicks, you will find alot of info here about all the Buicks of the world, but also check out the Buick Club of America for even more info and stuff for your Wildcat, you have a very rare car and you will find, if you haven't already, there isn't alot of info available as the car is fairly rare but very desirable! One fellow in the Buick Club from FL just bought a '64 Wildcat Convt from CA to FL, and he has beed scrounging parts, as I have been helping him some, so let us know if you need any help here or on the Buick Club site. Took my driver's license test with a '64 Electra 225, 4-door! and drove it for 2 years to college, got 16 MPG using 260 Sunoco, back then it was 74-76 cents a gallon! boy have I dated myself! Car ran 15.2 in the 1/4 mile before my brother parted it out cause the frame was rusted out, NY car!
Have fun with your Wildcat and let us know what you are looking for, for the next project, as you cruise this site you will find many ideas for that next project. RV

Thanks for the welcome Roberta. I found out the Wildcat is pretty rare, there is definately none around my area and I have been hitting car shows for quite sometime now. I'll be keeping this car for many years to come, with an attitude that it will be a constant work in progress. I will try to get some photos up when I figure out how to do that. In my search for a new project, I am definately going for something that can rip the road up. Although I like all types of American vehicles, I don't want my car to look like 40 or 50 other cars in the same show. I hope the guy in Florida is having as much luck as I did at finding parts. I will be sure to post anything I am in need of. Thanks

Hey Kevin, where are you located? as that can also help your quest for parts and your next project, as this Board and the BCA have members worldwide and it always cheaper and easier to find parts/stuff close to where we live! So I would recommend that you add your location to your posts and your profile! Just my .02! Roberta

As soon as I figure out how to add to my profile I will add info. I am in Cape May Court House, N.J. (any members near me?) I am also looking toward a 67 GS as a new project but I do a lot of research before I jump. I can't recall right away which member posted the nice pictures of the black 67 GS but eventually I will be attempting to pick his brain about the car, engine tranny etc...Roberta (or any other members) can you give me a briefing of the Buick Club of America? I've seen it but until I was not really interested, what's the gig?

Here's the link for the web site
    Buick Club of America

Basically the BCA has been around since 1966, with almost 10,000 members worldwide, a monthly publication called The BUICK BUGLE, and 60+ chapters all over the US, there's a yearly national meet that moves around the country, typically sponsored by one or more chapters, as well as regional meets. This year meet is the Buick Centennial Celebration in Flint, MI as Buick Motor Division is 100 years old on May 19,2003. More on the celebration is located on the aboved mentioned web site. There are over 1000 cars registered, and over 200 swap/vendor/car corral spots sold! Check out the site and let me know if you have any more specific questions. Roberta
