Hi, to all You fast Buick drivers overthere in the mighty US of A(home of my favourite car). It's really great to read through these forums and suck in all the knowlegde that's flowing aroung here.

Having LOVED Buicks for allmost 20 years now, I am finally setup to do something about it as well.

Family planning, proper shop facilities and a wee bit of ekstra economy is going my way now, so I've started doing something about all the old Buick's in my barn, and all the loose parts too.

I've been tampering with one of my dearest, a 1964 2-door Skylark, for a few months now, but things are going very slow so I guess I won't be driving for real until next spring. The family needs attention too!!!

I have several engines, plus a lot of engine parts and my question is:

how reliable are the Buick ID-numbers (casting# etc.) when I need to find out what block, manifolds and heads I've got and how to combine them? My one '64 has a 1972 350'' SBB with a 4-bbl, and I think it runs very strong. That year didn't have much HP as I've learned, but I'm certain that my engine is not entirely stock. It sure doesn't sound and act so!?! I have this "ultimate american V8 engine" book with a lot #'s in it. How reliable is that, and does better info exist?

I allready have a thread going about my HEI problem, and I hope to get some more info on that one too, thanks.

Hope to win the lottery and have the $$$'s to come and race You overthere sometime (I wish....).

Where I live the majority is chevy and mopar, so I'm proud of being a Buick-enthusiast.

Thanks for any help I may get from You Guys (hopefully).
