Definitely a "type O" Olds 10 bolt rear from '67-70.
Olds guys like to call them 12 bolts  , but they are a ten bolt, very similiar to later 8.5 ten bolt, but with weaker support in the pinion nose area than an corporate 8.5 ten bolt & with much poorer range of parts availability.

Main differences in the "type O's" is there was a 28 spline & 31 spline version made in '68. 4spd 68's got the 31 spline rear... not sure how long the 31 spline rear lasted into '69... Dave H????
Factory 31 spline rears took a carrier with larger diam carrier bearings & races... same as 12 bolt Chebby. Also took bigger diam axle bearings. The factory 31 spline type "O"s I've picked up all had bad axles (chewed up @ the bearing seat). During '70 production, Olds went from sealed axle bearing (JUNK) to tapered bearing design axle bearings with external seals. Thus... LOT of different '70 "type O" axles... more than Hollander will tell the unsuspecting axle hunter :af:

SuperCars Unlimited in OR sells some parts & aftermarket axles for the type "O" rears. Aftermarket gears for the "type O" rear are designed for the mid ratio type "O" carrier, so nice quality used 3.42 & 3.91 gearsets always bring a premium for restorers running factory low ratio posi carriers.

    Hope this helps.

Roger answered your question. If I were you I would consider the 71-2 Cutlass/Skylark corporate 8.5" for more parts availability and cheaper prices. You should be able to sell that rear to an Olds nut.

It turns out it is a 67 to 69 12 bolt olds type, parts are readily available from supercars unlimited so i'm gonna put it together. Greg said it should be good to 11.5 in the quarter,if i ever go faster than that i'll step up to a 9 inch
