im try to work out a plan for putting my regal in the grass root motorsports challenge. from what i can decypher the regal gonna start out at $850,-chevy 305 and the ralley wheels and tires i can theoretically knock that down to $350. then and estimated $550 for fillers a fresh coat of paint and wheels and tires. however i have 2008-2009 to spend and when it comes to the motor im not sure what to go with here re my ideas. 350 buick,i can put the 350 i have in my skylarkin but its gonna ur the initial price of the car,which doesn leave to much room to work with. 425 cadillac,i heard from the cadillac forums that if you add a 472-500 intake and run dual exaust that it really wake these motors up.the only problem is unless i find a junkyard intake the only intake i can find is the performer,which is $270,and to run dual exaust and crossmember is almost $300 an top of the fact that i might need a custom oil pan. turbocharged 231 v6,find a setup cheap add hypereutetic pistons, convert it to a throttle body and add a junkyard turbo setup. the only down side is that i dont have any experience with a turbo. 305 or 327 chevy,i have the parts for these and there is a chevy in car already but theyre chevy.
