I recently dynoed my GTO with a mostly stock 400 (cam, head work, ram air manifolds stock intake, 1969 GTO HO quadrajet). At the rear wheels my sick little indian made 263 hp, mostly because it had timing and fuel delivery issues (too much total advance and running out of fuel at top end). I have seen 1967/68 pontiac 400s make around 310 at the rear wheels with the same mods my car has, which would translate to about 380-400 hp at the crank.

I doubt your friend is putting out 450 at the rear wheels. as for ft/lbs torque that is a different story since my wounded GTO put out approx 365 fl/lbs at the rear wheels with the potential for more.

Maybe with hidden N2O. No way with stock non ram-air Pontiac heads.

If it is a 1967 and uses the 1967 heads then they would be 670 heads which it is possible to make that kind of power (on a high performance shortblock) with some very mild head work. 670 heads are really good heads (they are virtually identical to the #97 Ram Air I heads and design elements have been incorporated into the edelbrock aluminum heads). A hidden NO2 shot would put him in to that power but mostly stock pontiacs don't like the juice.

Let me sum it up this way, and I think I speak for us all.
