I just put a headliner in. I have a few spots that have wrinkles and a couple baggy spots. What is the best way to get the wrinkles out? My wife wants me to use a small clothes steamer to get fix the problem.

Than, I am going to install a dash pad and dash cluster. I have never put these on the car before. I have only taken them off. What should I look out for?

Than I am going to put the carpet in. I have done this once before and it seemed easy.

Than, I need to put on the seat covers on a bench seat. I might need some help with this.

    Thanks, Bob

Man!!!!! I love to work on these BUICKS :beer

I can only speak from experience on the dash. I've had mine apart several times and know it well. If you can get it apart without drama then you'll have no problems putting it back together. Just reverse the process. IMO, the hard part is getting it apart.

The car was gutted :spank: . The only thing that was left was the back seat. I have taken a dash and cluster out of a 68 Skylark once. Like you said it was a pain, but not too bad.

Today, I am going to see if I can finish up with the headliner. I am also going to work with the rear deck area. That I am going to use a nice piece of black vinyl. It is going to be nasty out today. Mid 90's and 90% humidity :Dou:.

    Thanks,
    Bob

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Wrinkles will come out with a steamer, works great.
Baggy/loose areas .....you need to make your material tighter.
Gently unpeel the headliner material from the mounting strips. Pull tight and reposition. If you don't, you will never get rid of the loose areas.
Make sure you use spray glue (rubber contact cement) comes from Home Depot in a large spray can. Cost about $15-17 a can.

Well, I decided to work in the basement yesterday. I will try the the steamer this morning and see if I can fix some spots.

    Thanks,
    Bob
