Was a spoiler ever actually available on a convert?

The spoiler was never available on a convertible.
The quarter heights are different from hard top to convert.
I modified the spoiler to make it look correct.

 

And Brian's infamous dented hood tach.

 

Here's one I've got. No hood tach or front spoiler though.

 

My 71GS 455 4spd convert about 20 years ago before it got rusted. Still in restoration shop for about 4 years if I remember right.

What did you do to modify the rear spoiler to blend in?

I had to make it a little taller, So I added material to where it bolts to the
trunk. Keeping the qap equal on each side of the quarter panels.

 

I think the convertible looks good with the spoiler, but it does look strange because I'm not used to it.

I think the vert looks much cleaner and classic without the spoilers, but I like the look, it really compliments the drive train :TU:
