How about synthetic lubricants everywhere?? I saw a dyno sheet from a Subaru that gained 10 WHP just by changing everting to synthetic..
Artie, I have a complete 71 350 2bbl engine, I will sell complete or just the heads. Let me know. Dave
Dave, shoot me a PM with your number, I need to pick up that other stuff from you anyway. My buddy saw you at Island today, how did the car run? I'm going to try to get up there Saturday.
I tried it a while back when the car was low 14s and it didn't change the ET or MPH at all. I didn't have the spacer on at the time, so I might make a pass back to back on/off next time to see if it helps.
I won't run synthetic in the trans or diff, it's too slippery for the clutches to grab in prior testing I've done with other cars. I might try synthetic with some ZDDPlus on the next engine oil change though to see if there's any gains to be had.
It might be in my head, but I swear that 71 bumper is a hair lighter than the 72 bumper I took off...
I'll pm you later. The car was a little off I raised the shift points and the car didn't like it. Wideband show it going real rich with higher rpm. I also tried a bigger carb(Braswell 850 ported venturi, thinned throttle shafts, down leg booster...)car slowed again by a little bit. That carb showed rich a higher rpm also.o No: I always thought it was the annular booster on my original Holley 830 that was causing it to go rich at high rpm. I'm going to try a SPX intake next. I'll start a new post don't want to steal your post.
i'll be a amsoil dealer in a week or so, the premium and dominator series have zinc and phosurous allready in them
hey, dont know if you ever got a ram air setup yet but heres one that;s nice and cheap http://www.jegs.com/p/Spectre/Spectre-Low-Profile-Ram-Air-Kit/1203412/10002/-1
Artie, I'm in the process of installing a Spectre Ram Air system on my car. My A/C stopped working, and I never use it, so I removed it and stored all the parts in case I want to install it at a later date. Spectre makes an air cleaner with the snorkels 120* apart now. I've got the air cleaner and flex tube installed, and I am in the process of integrating some scoops into my fiberglass spoiler. The air cleaner clears with the SP1. Should work great and look great when I'm done. http://www.spectreperformance.com/#CATALOG.98638
Thinner Lubricants "Synthetics", Multispark CD Ignition, Brass terminal cap, Fuel Cool Can, Alt. Field Switch, lose the Power Steering Belt, Nitrogen filled tires, Home made Aluminum Bumper brackets, Alum Accessory brackets from a Regal, Aluminum Master Cylinder, Electric Water Pump, Cooler Thermostat, When all else fails.....lean her out at WOT. Just keep an eye on the plugs, any shiny stuff and add more fuel.
Sean, Artie must be doing well with the car. I see he is near the top in the standings this year at Englishtown http://www.etownraceway.com/real_street_points.aspx I am not sure if he has been using the Skylark or not. I had some contact with him this past weekend and he e-mailed that he has been so busy with work he has not had time to go on the line. All his free time goes to racing and his young son :beer . I did not ask about the car or racing because I did not want to distract him in any way. He seems like he is in a grove and I hope he keeps it up. If I do happen to speak or e-mail with him I will let him know that you were asking :bglasses: . Take Care, jerseysky66 Bob
Thats odd. I was going to make a post the other day to ask if anyone had heard from him in a while. He always seemed to have some good ideas and insight about getting the 350 down the track.. Good to know he's still kicking.
