Anybody know of a good shop with Buick expertise in the San Antonio or Austin TX area? I am looking for a good machine shop and mechanic who can rebuild my 350. I know, I know, I'd like to build it myself, but I'm in training with my job, new house honey-do's, etc. and I just don't have the time. Besides, I'd like to find a good source for used (possibly running) engines and start on a project street motor... when I have the time.:Do No:
Also, can anybody confirm my nightmare about my water pump. The reason I would like to rebuild the engine is the water pump exploded, engine overheated, LOTS of valvetrain noise... voila; time for a rebuild. BUT, in an attempt to get it running again, I ordered a new water pump from TA Performance, put it on and NOW, the alternator pulley interferes with the pump! I eyeballed the old pump against the new one before I put it on and they both seemed to be the same size/height. The one difference I didn't notice until too late was the distance from the body to the round fan attachment base. My old one is about 3/4" further from the body of the pump than the new one. Any thoughts? Would a different pulley work here or should I just go out and get a different (read:correct) long style pump? If so, anybody want to buy a real nice short style pump?

    :Dou:
