    My "modest" dream car lol!
This one minus the black vinyl top..

Diplomat blue and the Pearl white buckets.
Would of been sweet if Buick would have offered a blue dash and rug instead of the black and black when getting the Pearl white seats.. Maby the design department saw that the blue dash and rug and believed it didn't look right??

Auto with full console and shifter..
    No A/C..
No power windows and no power locks..
    Rally gauge option with tach..
    Rally steering wheel..
Power steering and power front disc brakes..
F41 handling package with rear sway bar, maby a Trans Am front sway bar..
and a good set of shocks for a decent sure footed feel and nice ride also..
I know shocks have come a long way..
Poly bushings where needed the most and also not give a hard ride..

    Factory AM/FM radio..

The 15 x 7 rally's of course with the widest BF Goodrich radial tires that would fit..or if they ever made Goodyear Poly Glass G60's in a retro radial tire..

    More upgrades would be,
    Modding the engine oiling issue's...
Upper entry level port and polish cleanup of the heads, intake and exhaust manifolds..
Wouldn't mind a AL Edlebrock performer intake if the stock air cleaner fits.
Maby a tiny upgrade from the Stage1 cam like a TA 212.. or the little more torquey TA284-88H.
    True 10 or 10.5 to 1 compression.
All ARP bolt upgrades on the rods..
    Transmission cooler..
    2 1/2" exhaust through out.

Stock size disc's but drilled and slotted and matching high performance pads.
Whatever the best drum upgrades for the back, thinking finned AL drums and performance shoes.

I would love for someone like Jim Weise or Ken Betts to do the the motor and a Everyday performances 800 cfm Q-jet mod to super tune this car to run at least a 13.20 1/4 on any given day even if 100 degrees out with the BF Goodrich street tires out back without having to heat them up and not spin the motor more than 5500..
Basicly close to stock but blue printed for the best performance and modded for durability..

As for rear GSX spoiler i'm split 50-50??

Adding 2 Hypothetical armed guards and 4 Hypothetical Rottweilers or Dobermans on 24 hour duty to watch this Hypothetical dream car...!!

    I would daily a 3.90
    I did 4.10s for 4 years between my Tempest and my Chevelle SS 396 w a 427.

The other car that is on my bucket list but I'll likely never get is this:

1959 Buick Electra 225 2 door hardtop. Not a convertible, I'd like a car with a roof again, something quiet and elegant inside. And it has to be loaded with just about every option available. I would also entertain a 4 door of sorts provided it has every option in the catalogue. I'd prefer the 2 door though. I've offered to trade my newer loaded Electra convertible for one of these, only to be greeted with raucous laughter.
They just don't seem to exist anymore up here in Canada, the ones I've seen are basket-cases or prohibitively expensive. There is no way I'm paying $40-100K for one of these things.

    1972Mach1 Just some M.M.O.G. guy.....

Marc (and others with realistic dreams), you only go around once. If your dream car is even semi reasonable to get, why not? What you going to do with your money or credit when you're gone?....I'm buying all my reasonable dream cars up as fast as I can. If I was 20 I'd worry, since I'm 41 I'm not. The Miura isnt realistic, but if it was, you're damn sure right I'd have one.... Do it. Seriously not trying to come off as a jackwagon on a forum, but as somewhat of a friend: Make yourself happy. You just sold a car or two, you got room. When you're laying on your death bed, you think it'll be better to say "I'm sure glad I didn't spend that 50 grand on that car" or "I'm sure going to miss my Electra"? Just imagine how amazing it'd be to walk out to that sweet thing every day and know it's yours ;):D

Thanks Lucas, You're right, you only go around once.

And I've been looking for a nice one of these for years and just haven't seen "The One" that would make me go and plead a case at the bank or with the wife and sell off all the other stuff I have. Most that I have looked at have been either poorly or cheaply restored with a few crucial parts missing and modern power trains, or basket cases that are more or less beyond salvage. There have been a few that are close, but they wanted an incredible amount of money for it, and while I'm not cheap and I do earn well enough, factor in a crappy exchange rate, shipping, and an inflated value, it quickly gets into levels I can't justify or easily afford. I'm at a phase in my life where I should be saving and making the final push into retirement, not picking up projects that I'll never get done or spending so much that I have to postpone my retirement another 5 years.

Very few of these came out loaded, most were pretty spartan , it was the tail end of a recession so the numbers are low, period. Then there's the demand; in the 70s these things were worthless and the styling "extreme" and "ugly", so a lot were squashed around here. Now because of those looks, they're hotter than a firecracker and anything that's good offered up gets snapped up quick.

    So...
The offer still stands; (to anyone) find me a loaded up 59 Invicta or Electra, even a sedan, it's got to be at least driver quality, and you get my 66 Electra Convertible, a "trade up" as it where. By "loaded" I mean that it has to have a minimum of a power seat, power windows and factory A/C. No projects need apply...:D

For a Buick - a 1960 Invicta 2 dr HT with a 401 and a three-speed manual with just about every option available. For a "normal car" (the Chrysler turbine car ain't "normal") I'd pick a 1962 Chrysler 300 H 2 dr HT with the Pont-a-musson (spl?) 4 speed manual transmission. I wouldn't care whether it was the 380 or 405 HP version.

Very interesting. I was unaware of any export cars. I read a story a couple years back about the US car being located somewhere in Florida. Maybe that was a clone or tribute?? Thanks for that info.

After 25 years of looking at cars and projects I could not afford, at 48 years of age, I could afford this one. My dad, who passed in 83 had a 67 Hemi Satellite before I was born. You always want to do better than your pops.

I don't think anyone knows what the US-spec car was like, though there's always a rumor about an x color car in a garage in Detroit.

This is the Canadian (4-speed, Quebec):

This is the export (automatic, Switzerland):

This is my favorite of all:

But out of all these, how can you beat something like this?

This car is, at least IMO, one of the most beautiful Mopars ever built. I love that color combo. For me, it could also be a Super Bee or a Dart GT but it would definitely be that color.
