I am thinking of buying a Hypertech Computer programmer for my 06 GMC Duramax Diesel 2500 Truck. Anyone use this programmer on their Duramax? If so ,did you see mileage improvement in truck on hiway driving Feedback appreciated Thanks Rich
I've tried them all, Hypertech, Edge, Diablosport. None of them gave any appreciable increase in mileage. I kept the Hypertech. It does help with towing. With all the torque it generates, it keeps the truck in 5th going down the road instead of downshifting on grades. And they're nice if you buy other than stock tires. I have a 2005 Chevy with the LLY engine and Allison trans.
I've been using a hypertech on my 03 and am happy with it. Use the power wisely although, unfortunatly I don't think i used my tow haul mode enough as the truck had so much power it didn't feel like it was working and the tranny temp seemed ok. I believe after 180,000 miles my tranny may have suffered somewhat from my stupidity & now my wallets prob going to suffer?
