    Hey all,

Anyone know if the #7236 is the correct Hurst shifter for the '72 GS with a bench seat? That is the shifter that came with the car, but I just want to make sure it is correct. Thanks!

    Pete,

The 7236 I have says "Hurst" vertically on both sides like you said, but the curve is higher up the handle, more towards the top, which would make sense for clearance of the bench seat I think, right??

I think the stick was the same for bench or bucket---someone should
chime in that knows for sure. Pete

Maybe I am wrong, but I know that in 1973,the bench shifter stick is different than a bucket stick. I tried to install a newer Competition Plus shifter in my 73 and it was so far toward the passenger side, there was no way it could be shifted. My handle was way different in appearance that a buckec one.I would bet the 72 cars had the same problem.
