I've got some in a 494 I'm having gone back thru currently,...they were quite for the short time the engine was running,..Howard's is generally nice stuff
I have the Johnson roller lifters I got from Jim Weise. They came in a Isky Racing Cams box. They are nice and quiet.
Isky and Johnson teamed up to build the best the lifters on the market,.. between the two of them they have always been more concerned with quality over quantity so hopefully they prove durable
Those ones should be ok. There were other brands that had failures before these ones came out. So yes you are on the right track. Look into lifter bore support options for the block.
