Similar subject--anyone know how to get rust stains off of glass? I have a perfect windshield to put in one of my cars, but it came out of a car that had a vinyl top and was rusted badly, so there are rust stains all down it where rain carried the rust from the roof down onto the glass.

How about CLR rust and lime remover? There's another product called "The Works" I've used on tile. If you use this stuff wear gloves, The Works will eat your skin off! Try it on a piece of glass you don't care about first, it may be it's possible to etch glass.

Start conservatively with the Invisible Glass product mentioned above, CLR, Purple Power,0000 steel wool. Use The Works as a last resort, it's nasty stuff, probably has muriatic acid in it.

    Bar Keeper's Friend works, too.

That too! I'd save the 80 grit as a last resort:laugh:
