Is there is a list somewhere that identifies all the parts that are needed for a big block swap? My 71 GS350 has 170,000 miles and still runs great but it's not fast enough for me. Thanks.

    Pretty Painless...

Eric, I just did this on my 69 GS. Let me give some highlights:

Of coarse you need the donor engine with accessories!

    1. Big block engine mount pads(from T/A)
    2. Make sure your radaitor is up to task(four row is best)
    3. Big Block fan shroud-(Correct for your year)
    4. New or modified exhaust (the manifolds terminate in different spots)
    5. Make sure your transmission is up to par. (Not sure what trans you have but a TH350 will probably not hold up to well behind a Big Block although it will bolt up.)
    6. Now might be a good time to convert to HEI if you haven't already. (make sure you don't reuse the resistor wire from the points)

I am sure others will have additional input but I think that about covers the basics.

Good luck and welcome to v8buick.com

Thanks. I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade my GS350 or sell it and buy a GS455. Since this one is a driver, originality is not mandatory, I can always save the original parts.
