how much is it worth?

I am going to be switching out a 340 for a 455, how much should I ask on a good running 340?

 

I would say about 10 bucks delivered to me in Nebraska,LOL.I would say it will depend on if its a 2 barrel engine or 4 barrel and what it came out of.If you could supply more detailed info someone might give you a closer idea but if it a stock 2 barrel engine and running good I myself would pay around 200.00 to 250.00 if it was close by........Price would go up if its a 4 barrel and if from a Gran Sport car it would be even more I am sure........

It is coming out of a 1967 gs400 convertible. Been sitting for 20 years, but runs well. The original owner swapped the engine at some point, don't know the story.
