    Hello,
I want to know how many of the 1970 GS 455 (auto trans) convertibles that came in sherwood green. (#48)
Does anyone here know, or know where this kind of info can be found?
    Thanks
    Christian

From the "Daily Car Reports" kept at the Sloan Museum...Mike Trom researched this information and a copy of his work can be purchased.

1970 GS Convertibles built with Sherwood Green paint:

106 built at Flint MI plant
12 built at Leads MO plant
4 built at Fremont CA plant

    122 total:TU:

I own one of the 106 from Flint (factory 4-speed car), and am aware of several others.

No way to break down the numbers by color/transmission. Buick's build data does not go into that type of detail.

    Sorry

Thank you guys for your fast reply.
Im also the proud owner of one sherwood green made in Flint.
The body is in the rotisserie waiting for me to replace some sheet metal.
Sure hope mine will be as good looking as yours Marco.
    Again thanks.

    Hi Christian,

Thank you for your compliments on my car.

The 'way' Mark refers to is to combine the Sloan Museum microfiche with Wayne Robert's microfiche into a modern relational database and run queries against the total data from 1970.

    Extremely unlikely.

    Man,

I think Marco knows a little too much. Like Marco said.

    HIGHLY UNLIKELY.

If I had access I would be crazy enough to do the research but alas I do not have the access.

Sherwood green was one of the most popular colors for 70 GS conv with a 122 produced and thus very common.
Other high production color choices were 146 Diplomat Blue,Bamboo Cream 136 ,Burnished Saddle 224 and winner Fire Red with 246 built.
The rest of the colors offered 1970 are much rarer most being in the 40-50 cars produced.

Thanks for sharing this information, at least I have a better understanding regarding how common/rare my sherwood green convertible are.
