Does anybody know how to find out how many flame orange (ZZ) 72 GS 350 4 speeds were made? I think there were 353 GS 350 4 speeds produced in 72. thanks in advance Louie
I have a production book at home,it does not specify the color but I can look it up for. If nobody chimes in,shoot me a PM and I'll look it up tonight.
According to the GM Daily Car Reports, for the 72 model year, they built 1,067 GS cars in Z code, Flame Orange...no brakedown on the engines and colors, currently available. You can get your own personal copy of the GM Daily Car Reports from Mike Trom...excellent library reading.:TU: mrtromm@yahoo.com
Pretty common even on Skylarks in 72. I picked some nice sheetmetal off one in a NC junkyard 10 years ago and have seen many others.
I have 2 Flame orange cars, one is a 4-speed convertible that I have owned since high school, 30 years ago!! My other (parts) car is listed for sale on this board but it came with a vinyl top and I do not know what color although Sloan could probably tell me. Great color but I like my Burnished Copper Stage 1 convt. even more. Upstaged in Michigan. Both are 1972 cars but there cannot be too many 4-speed convertibles still around.
My son and i bought this one four years ago. Made in Flint, flame orange paint, black vinyl top, saddle interior. Since been painted medium blue with skunk stripes. And it's a 350-4 with a 4spd Muncie M22. Love the way they whine!!
Don't know......it was just as greasy and grimy as the motor was when it was pulled for a rebuild at about 130,000. The VIN doesn't identify the transmission, but all other numbers/letters in it tie to what's on the car. How would I find out if the Muncie is original factory? Thanks!
If it is original it has your cars partial VIN on the passenger side just before where the tailshaft mates.
Finally got underneath the car over the weekend, only three of the numbers on the tranny match the VIN sequence. So, if it's not a factory Muncie, it's an excellent upgrade!
I have owed mine since May of 1980. It is a Flame orange 350 4 speed car. It is also a SCO car. Has saddle buckets with both console and the jocky box. Yes the VIN matches the original fine spline muncie. Not a crusher>>> With onlt 353 small block 4 speed cars produced in 72 I cant imagine there are many left.
