How does this look(EFI Options)? I've collected most of the parts to complete my Buick EFI manifold. I was planning on using a throttle body and intake elbow from a 460 Ford EFI engine. I can't decide if it looks hideious or just...interesting... I'd have to make an adapter plate to mount it. What do you guys think? Take a look: http://home.att.net/~basic-4/BuickEFI/BuickEFI.html
Since you asked,I think that it will look wicked if you can pull it off.It looks like a long way for the air to go and I don't know if that's good or bad on the set up.I don't know much on EFI set ups but in my opinion if you can do as good or better than with a carburetor your effort$ were not in vain and the engine will be one of a kind, if that's what you are trying to achive :TU: .Creative thinking keeps the wheels turning. :beer
Riviera efi... I too am researching an efi setup for the 455 I am building for my 67' Riviera. Considering the limited hood clearance already available on the late 60's Rivieras, are you planning on a scoop, or just gonna let that "snake" stand up there and poke it's head through the hole? I have to admit, you are certainly thinking outside the box! Go for it, and let us see more as you get closer to completion. Randy
make sure you post pics after its in, DAM it looks like it would come out and bite you. DO it......Do it
No, I certainly wouldn't modify my 69 Riv's hood. This particular setup is going to be tested out on the 3rd gen camaro that I installed a 430 in. However I could always put on one of those 4-bbl type throttle bodies which should clear the Riviera hood w/ a drop base air cleaner. Actually I've been thinking it over a little more and I think I'm going to try and build my own elbow but still use this throttle body. I want to stick with this throttle body because it's big enough and it lends itself easier to turbocharging :Brow: Hopefully a different elbow will clear the hood. Does anyone know the height btwn the carb pad on the stock manifold to the bottom of the hood on a 67-69 Riviera?
You could just weld up a aluminum box that bolts to the intake and bolt that too the front. Something like this but just a square box, http://images.google.com/imgres?img...+body+adapter&ndsp=20&svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&sa=N
