how do I tell if my 69 Riv has posi?

    i feel stupid asking this question but how do I tell if my 69 Riv GS has posi? I know it should because it is a GS but just making sure.

    also what gears will it be and how do I know if its original.

    for future referance how do I tell if any buick has posi or what gears they are?

    Make sure the car is in park so the driveshaft is locked in place. Jack up the back of the car and try and turn one of the tires. If you cant, is a posi. If the opposite wheel turns the other way, its an open diff.

    The best way is to take off the rear cover. The fluid needs to be changed anyway. It may have a hurt posi so it no longer has dual wgeel grip. The ratio is on the ring gear or you can count the teeth.
