Just when I thought I knew it all :Dou: lol I got a sport steering wheel with a center horn button that dont wanna come off to save its life. I figured I mighta forgotten some old trick, its been awhile since i had a factory wheel. This thing came with my new addition,68 skylark, and it had one of those ghetto covers thatd been on since the 70s and has made a gooey mess out of a perfect black rim sport wheel with redline center cap so I gotta take it to the kitchen sink. I dont wanna get rambunctious and take a screwdriver to it before i know what Im doin :Dou: ..thanks guys...fish

I just took mine off last night. A gentle nugde with a screwdriver and it popper right off.

My problem is the black collar that goes behind it. How do I remove that without damaging it?????

Looks like Im missing some parts...

Got the steering wheel off and saw the horn contact was missing...the thing that goes thru the collar to the inside of the steering column. What is there is the bracket that holds the button on,a plate with a gasket, and another plate with a tang on it that points down.I can see the spring down in the hole but nothing to push it down. Tried to make contact but got nothing. Any pointers on whats makin it not work? Thanks ..fish

There is a little rod that goes in there. I'll take a pic of it later today and post here.
