So I went to put the top down today and I discovered a broken hose (brittle from age) As far as I know everything else is working good. I just ordered a new set of hoses. Is there anything I should know about replacing or bleeding tricks when they arrive ? I just want to be prepared when they get here.

Mine just arrived yesterday. I'm interested in the answers also.
I have replaced the cylinders years ago and don't remember any priming issues. Just keep refilling the pump.

    Roy,

Rick did mine last year in the 70 and we invested in a system to bleed it. You should have it him do it for you.

I just replaced the pump in my '64 and invested in a filling/bleeding system sold by convertibleparts.com. Well worth the $40. I filled and bled the system in 5 minutes and did not spill a drop of fluid.

I replaced mine and used a turkey baseter to fill my motor. Make sure your lines are going to be out of the way when the seat goes back in. I removed my motor on my electra an held it up and with the help of a friend I ran the top up and down to bleed my lines. We used a heavy gauge wire and a remote jump start battery to power the top motor, make sure you have a good ground. Or start your car to may-tane steady voltage to the top motor. My engine was out when I did mine. Good luck ! It's not that bad !
