I have a chevy friend that found some Hooker headers for a BB Buick at a race shop garage sale. He said they are un-used but look like they have been sitting for awhile. He said they look like they are at least 15 years old because they actually look like they have some quality. The part # is 1103. Is that correct for a BB in an A -body and are they the kind that wrap around the frame rail? Also what is a fair price? Thanks.

    Hi Bob,
    Summit lists those headers for a Buick 350. I pm'd ya:TU:

I am using those headers now for my 455. THey have 2" primaries. If you use them make sure you use an antiseeze on the primary tubes that wrap around the frame. Makes it a whole lot easier to remove.

Do you have to cut the inner fender out in order to use them?

Good question! I had mine removed well before getting the Hookers. It doesn't seem like it will get in the way, but not sure on that.

    Yep!

You sure do have to cut the wells. They were on my 70 GSX until I installed a set of Greg Gessler's ported exhaust manifolds.
Now I'm looking for good uncut fenderwells.....:ball:

That's why if I was to reproduce any part for the A-Body, it would be inner-fenders as they all are interchangable from 70-72, as most are always rusted out.

Is there an advantage to having the one tube over the frame rail? Or, was it from the lack of engineering skill needed to make them fit inside the frame rails?
