For Classic and Muscle Car Hood Hinge & Door Hinge Repair They are Super I have had work done by them... w w w . hoodhingerepair . c o m
I put my hinges on an anvil and then took a BFH and a punch to the rivets. This tightened them up nicely. It has only been a few months but they are working well.
Pm sent. Speedtigger, that's what I'm talking about. See they are already cleaned, painted, and have been on the car since it's birthday. Took the hood of the other day to do some cosmetics to the underside and noticed the D.S one had some play in the rivets. Wanted to get something done quickly and long lasting before the hood came back from the body shop. These hinge shops need about 2wk turnaround and want $210 plus shipping for a rebuild. Not really looking for that so I'm gona see what Jim has and if all else fails I'll try your method. I was thinking about using my 20 ton press instead of the BFH.
Keep your hinges oiled well. 10W-30 oil works best. Forget the grease. Major reason the hinges go is lack of lube.
Thanx for all the help guys. Looks like they tighten up in the press. Jason, Jim's hinges are all yours
