    I noticed when I was putting in the rear that there is a hole on the top of the right side axle tube. I thought there was nut/bolt in it before I had it powder coated. It looks like it is broken off. I will try to attach a photo.

    Len,
    I have a few extra correct new GM vents, and would be glad to drop one in the mail for you so you don't have to wait. By the time a person get's one from Year One, the shipping will be twice as much as the cost of the part.

    Mike;

    Thanks for the info. and the photo. I know I did not remove that when I took it out. It must have been missing when I got it back.

    Tim;

    Drop one in the mail. I'll PM you with my address. Send me yours and I'll send you the $$$.

    Len,
    It's fairly common for those vents to be broken off, I bought 2 or 3 cars that way.
    I will be more than happy to get one in the mail for you.

    Hi Jeff,
    I have a few more and would be happy to sell one to you.
    What year is your car ? 71-2 take a different vent than a 70.

    My car is a 71 Buick but the Rear end is a 12 bolt 3:42 posi from a 69 or 70 GTO.

    Len,

    I was looking at your photo and noticed you installed new bushings for the upper control arms. I need the one that goes on the axle for my Boattail.

    What's the price for just 1 stock bushing, and are they easy to remove/install ?

    Thanks :TU:

    I found some of those vents that fit that application, so it's a go.

    The last bushings I bought for my 72 GS cost around $10 each, and were the same bushing for either the upper or lower arm and the axle housing.
    I'm not sure if the full size cars take a different bushing.

    With the axle sitting in the car they would not be real easy to change out.
    GM made special tools for removing and installing the bushings that were helpful but not necessary.

    The ones I have installed were with everything apart. An air chisel is very helpful to remove them.

    Thanks for your answer Tim :TU:

    Removing isn't the hardest part, as I found out with the front suspension upper arm bushings: getting them in without bending the arm was the real problem.

    But I reckon these rear bushings install just by driving them in with a hammer and a right size socket.

    It was equally painfull taking out as putting back in. I still have to put the front ones in. I am going to try to make a jig to keep the front from getting crushed.
