Witnessed a Hit and Run between an Acura and a motorcycle. The punk in the Acura drove off. I chased him down with my `87 Chevy truck loaded with building supplies. Then he took off on foot, I ran him down (running - not with the truck) and tackled him. Took his cell phone and called the cops. Held him there until they arrived - 15 minutes later! I went back to the accident and the guy on the motorcycle was suprisingly in good shape, being that he went flying through the air. The other cars that I thought were pulling over to help the cyclist never stopped. I ended up being the only witness.

Glad I didn't have to regret not having one of my GTO's with me!

    Good for you Dave,

The scary thing is what could have happened to you for doing this. You never know what some of these kids are "packing" these days...

Great work Dave!! I know it may have been tempting to "run him down" WITH your truck :3gears: or I should say he tripped and fell under the truck :Brow:

    Just kidding.

    Again great job!

    Good Job!

Great Job!!! When I was run over by a buckeye in a Jacked-Up 4WD truck on my softail, it was noon rush hour. Nobody stopped to fill out a report....and when they did, the police told them they were blocking traffic, "Move on". Just one witness would have made a world of difference. Turned out to by my word against his.

Dave, you are a hero with guts to do a thing like that. the world needs more stand up kind of guys to jump into action like that. very commendable. i hope you slugged him a couple times just to be "sure" he didnt get away. i hope they throw the book at him. he may end up in the Maricopa county jail, right ? that right there is incentive enough to do the right thing. i would not like it there.

i could never leave someone on the side of the road to die, ( unless that was the plan from the get go. ) tis better to stop and risk a minor ticket anyway, they dont do much for accidents, but they can ( and should be ) harsh on hit and run drivers. despicable what he did there.

  7. Nice job, but "hit", "run", and "kill" in the subject frightened me a little bit!

Good instincts Dave!! Not enough people get 'involved', when something like this happens.

Good to know, that one less scumbag is driving around. :TU:
