C'mon, Voodoo......extra parts? For the '66? I was just about to ask you the same question.
I do know where one is sitting in a junkyard, though. It's about 2 hours away or so. The guy that runs the place, though, he's....not easy to deal with.

I don't have any extra Buick parts, but I do (I will get tarred and feathered) have a 4-speed console and rear seat out of a 66 SS Chevelle. I have all the parts I need for the Skylark except for the side moulding. (stainless trim) That's harder to find than hens teeth :) Especially in my financial range :ball:

Serious? You want me to cough up my secrets? Without even offering to get me drunk first? You sure you're from WV?

    Awww......I'm just kidding you.

I don't know about the rear trim on that car - seems it was missing. But I think most of it was present on the doors forward. I could look if you'd like.

We ought to get together sometime. Cause I have a line on a fair sized bone yard that is only about 50 mins from town. I've never been or talked to anyone thats ever been there, but one of my brothers swears he saw it and I don't doubt what he tells me. From what he said.....there's some really interesting stuff there. I sure would like to take a look for myself.

And you got a chevelle, too? A '66? You're gonna hafta come to my house someday. Or me to yours. That's just unbelievable. Say, you don't have a thing for old convertable Blazers, too, do ya?

By the way. You got any name other than Voodoo Child?
'Cause you can call me Mike. Though it's really Billy. But no one ever calls me that except maybe lawyers and police and the like.

Well Mike, I think I know where the yard your brother is talking about is.....would it be out on Whites Creek? If so, he's got about 1000 old cars rotting away out there. We were out there twice last summer, walking up hills, down hills, up holler, down holler....you get the picture. I've been going out there for 20+ years  No, I don't have a Chevelle, just the couple parts from one. Hubby did buy a 67 SS when he came back from Viet Nam, but that's LONG gone. My son has traded for a ton of old Blazers and Broncos, but he always trades them off for something else. He's got an old CJ now to go mud running in.....He is always trading on something, has been since kindergarden..LOL This IS WV you know!
I am like you with the Billy, call you Mike. I am Teresa, call me Gail :)
Since I didn't get you drunk to spill the secret junkyard, if you are ever around there, check the 66 and see if it has its stainless trim please. And if you are going out to Wayne to the gigantic junk yard, the only Buick I could find after much looking and digging under fallen trees, dodging snakes, etc was a 67 Skylark with nothing left to salvage.

And Voodoo Child?.......Using words like Hubby......Teresa.....Gail......If I didn't know no better........I'd swear you were a woman.

    Who'd a thunk it?

    Nice to meet you, Gail.

And I've got some pictures to post, too. Though there ain't much to see at the moment.

And I apologize for taking so long to get back to everyone. But someone made me an offer this weekend and......only a sane married person or an insane single person would have been able to turn it down. And while people sometimes accuse me of having a crazy right foot.......the rest of me ain't insane. : )

This here is a picture of my '66. I stripped the paint off of it about 2 months ago and have been working on it here and there.

Here are two more pictures of it.

It was an Ohio rust free car.....which meant it only needed new fenders, rear quarters, rear window channel, trunk, you know. I've replaced it all over the last few years. Not a speck of rust on it anymore.

And don't think I just slathered over the rust with body filler. I know there is some filler on the car.....but I'm gonna' be painting it black. So it's gotta' be done. I actually used about 7-8 pounds of lead on it. You can kind of see where some is that I haven't filed off yet in the last picture.

It doesn't have a drivetrain or front suspension at the moment. I'm replacing the front end with something I've whipped up. Not 'cause I want a g-machine or anything.....I just don't like how A-bodies get all that positive camber when the suspension compresses.

As for the motive power.......well.....I'm not sure that the majority of the members of this site would cotten to what I've built for it. But.....I had a purpose in building this car. And this is the way to get there.

I'm actually not working on it at the moment. I usually don't work on cars when it's too cold out. Right now I'm building a fireplace. Out of stainless steel. And I'm rebuilding an old pullmax machine.

I'll probably start back on it towards the end of March. I'd think it will be on the road around June or July.
