New to this forum, but not new to Buick. First Buick was in 1962. It was a '52 Roadmaster I believe. The in '66 I bough a '54 Century...both of these are long gone. I have 10 vintage cars. Three are in the project stage. These three are a '67 Buick Skylark, a '67 Pontiac LeMans OHC Sprint convertible, and a '63 Impala SS. My other cars range from a '49 Olds 98 convertible to a '62 Corvette.
I am swapping out the Buick 300, and installing a '68 Buick 350 4bbl and hooking it up to a 700R4 transmission.
Since I am fairly new to the Skylark series, I've been doing a lot of research on it. I am leaving the paint as is but with a clear coat. The upholstery will be new. I have installed a Wilwood front wheel disc brake system with dual master cylinder. I've already found out I will need different wheels. I will order new wire harness and the 359 is being overhauled 30 over, and i will be using a Lunati flat tappet street perfprmer and a 600 cfm Holley with new intake manifold. I haven't made up my mind of headers but I use Sanderson on some of my others.
I will need a lot of help and advice and I was told this was the place to get it on vintage Buicks...hope so.
    I also have a '68 Skylark I;m using as a donor car.

Looking forward to it. Right now I'm trying to figure out why my front wheels won't fit over the Wilwood Spindles. Since I want to use the original hubcaps, what front wheels should I hunt for? Am gonna have to use larger wheels. My mechanic found a pair that will work, but I don't know if the hubcaps will fit

Welcome to the club. One of my local car guy friends has a 67 Sprint Vert with the OHC inline 6. Nice car.

    Welcome Bob,
I think V8buick is the place for you. Post your wheel question in "The Hides" Forum.

How do the fenders look on the '68 Skylark? Welcome!

Wow!!! Not many OHC Sprint verts around anywhere. Most LeMans have been cloned into Goats.

Front fenders look OK. 1/4 panels look fair, need work.

That looks like the Special Deluxe trim to me. I am interested in those fenders if you are selling them? I will PM you.

    Also, where are they located?

The car is in SoCal. Fenders, hood, trunk lid, and anything else I can't use on my '67 is for sale. Anything I make of the '68 will go right back into the '67.
The '68 came with a 350 4BBL which I'm using...any idea what the HP might have been. I have read it was up to about 300HP.

I believe it was "factory rated" at 280hp, but that should be ignored. These engines are great and have a lot of torque (not 455 torque, but still).

    Welcome from Florida!

You'll probably have to use 15" rims, which the stock hubcaps won't work on.

Yep, I was thinking that, but if I can't use my hubcaps, I'll probably go with 17X7 front, and 17X8 rear with rally type wheels. I like using Nitto tires.

I'm told we'll be using Federal standard pistons, block will be bored out 30 over, But after that I'll be going with Lunati Voodoo hydraulic flat tappet cam kit. Staying with same heads which will be ported. Changing intake manifold and carb to Holley 600cfm. Headers still undecided.
I have the same setup on a '55 Nomad with a SBC 350ci. I've done 15.0 in 1/4 mile. Expect to do better with lighter, more aerodynamic Skylark.

    Bob,
One of the great things about V8buick is the volume of information here. Try the search function. Chances are any question you want to ask has been asked many times before. You could do this at 3 in the morning when most are asleep, and get an answer instantly.:D
