Hey folks. I'm the newest new guy. I've got a '72 GS 455 that I'm slowly putting back together and was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a set of rear bumper cushions that surround the tail lights. Either NOS or reproduction. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it..........

Regarding your question about the cushions, it might behoove you to post a message in the Parts Wanted forum. There are a few of these floating around somewhere I'm sure. I'll look around to see if I can spot any for you.

Welcome new guy! I guess you'll be spending days and days reading here. I joined in January and have searched for all sorts of information and I'm sure I haven't scratched the surface.

If you go to www.yearone.com they may have what you're looking for. Gasket set part number JST702 for $45 is described as "Tail light lens gaskets for 1970-1972 models". It also says " Reproduction lens gaskets are made of the correct grey-foam rubber material as original". They don't have a picture online and I don't have a recent catalog, so you should probably call and make sure they aren't the gasket that goes between the lense and lense bucket before you order. I have an old catalog that lists HT76 and has a picture of what I think you're looking for. They're $289 though! :eek2: That part number does not show up in a search of their site.

There may also be a cheaper source. Hopefully, someone else will chime in if there is.

Are you referring to the black rubber pieces that attach to the bumper or the taillight gaskets??

 

I'm looking for the rubber cushions that attach to the rear bumper around the taillights, not the gaskets.........

I'm pretty sure it's that HT76 number from Year One I quoted above. They probably have changed the part number along the way. Give them a call, they can probably cross-reference the old number.

In that old catalog it was a repro, not new GM. Wonder why they stopped offering it? Seems to happen often with them.

These are sometimes a hard find but keep an eye on Ebay.Is the only place I've seen them.
