As some of you know i had trouble seating the bronze pilot bushing in my 455. I wasnt able to get it to fit it in correctly because the hole in the crankshaft was out of round. I believe that many 455's are like this because so many were not installed with manual transmissions from the factory, there for GM could same the time and money by not bothering to get them "true".

So i took my engine to a local tranny/race shop, and the guy there (Scotty from "Garage Motorsports" in Vancouver W.A) built a tool that will bolt onto the crank and ream out the crankshaft for a PERFECT pilot bushing hole.

He is going to rent out this tool which is specific to the big block buick and try to make back the money he spent to make it, he did a magnificent job putting it together. It will work with the motor still in the car saving time and headaches. if you are interested in renting it, give him a call @ 360-135-0753.
