I have a 2001 Toyota Camry with manual trans. When shifting from second to third, the RPM's race away until finally the speed catches up. Trying to determine if the clutch needs to be adjusted or replaced. All fluid levels are fine. Not sure if thats enough info...but all responses are appreciated

If the pedal adjustment does not correct the issue, it is time for a new clutch disc, pressure plate and throw out bearing.

    And flywheel resurfacing, if applicable.

Start the car, hold one foot on the brake, the other foot on the clutchpedal.
Shift into 3rd gear and slowly release the clutch.

If the engine stalls, the clutch is fine.
If it keeps running in the beginning, adjust the clutch.

Thanks everyone. Hopefully its a quick adjustment and not a replacement

if the car has a hydraulic assist, that could also be bad.
