I have the TA 7qt fabbed steel pan, and TA gasket set which is cork rails and a rubber “U” over the rear main. Got everything in place and torqued down to 30. But... I CAN SEE RIGHT THROUGH A BIG GAP BETWEEN THE RUBBER SEAL AND THE SADDLE OF THE OIL PAN !!!!! Dang it! Also seems as if the rubber piece sis funny in the rear main channel. Sits in deeper at the top than the lateral areas nearest the rails of the block. What am I doing wrong?!?!?
I put a bead on one side and a thin film on the other and press the parts together. Try not to move the parts any more than necessary.
First off you I hope you mean inlbs and not 30 ftlbs Second with that pan just use sealer at the rear cap as mentioned,..its not designed to use the rubber Third thin coat of sealer on the block and pan Sealer on the bolt threads that go into the cover Fourth don't torque the bolts period,...start in the center and jump around from side to side working to the ends,..do this 3 times,..with 10min in-between cycles,...use the factory bolts or both with an internal lock tooth washer
Yup, 14 sorry I was going from memory. 30 is timing cover. Haha, truth be told I was tempted to say “30 is the oil pump housing” and freak everyone out! Thanks guys! Hope to meet some of you at the GS Nats next month
