On bolts that you need to save you can heat them up to a dull red then stick a candle to it. The wax will penetrate into the threads. I did this on the door hinges of my 50 merc and saved the bolts/ It worked pretty good.
I just had to grind off the bolts on the trailor hitch that was on the cutlass when I got it. Looks 10x better now though. Guess I should have remembered this thread. ou:
