I need to remove the front roof rail lock on my 1965 GS convertible in order to replace the knuckle. The shop manual says to remove the two "lock attaching screws". Is there a trick to removing these so called screws - there is no room betwwen the screws and the top for a screw driver. The screws feel like the have a hex head and the picture in the the shop manual confirms the shape, but gives no socket size and it also looks like they might have a hex for an allen wrench. They are very difficult to see. Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove these without doing any damage.

Randy, not real sure how you are going to remove these with the top on...Maybe someone else has an idea.

Thanks for your response. Is that a crosspoint head on that screw. If not, what is it? Also, your photo shows the head to be hex shaped. Do you know what size socket or wrench will fit it. Any info would be appreciated.

When I go home tonight I will work on it some more.
