On January 10, 2024 My Son David, just 29 years old, was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. Since then he has had multiple surgeries and has now started chemotherapy. He has not been able to work during this time, and they do not know when he will be strong enough to go back to work. Your support and /or prayers are needed. My oldest son John, has started a gofundme fundraiser for David's family. Please spread this to as many platforms as you can. Read his story https://gofund.me/71240a36 Thank You!
Mike, It saddens me to hear this. My best friend went through the same thing and it scared the hell out of me (and him). Without going into the details which I'm sure you're aware of, he made a full recovery. I pray that David will do the same. Donation sent.
My best friend since 3rd grade just informed us he has Stage 4 colon cancer and it's spread to his liver and lungs... ( or at least there is spots on all that ). The only Stage I want to hear about is Buick related. Donation sent.
I went to the Go Fund Me page, but it wants me to accept cookies. I just had my daughter clean out all of that sort of stuff that had practically taken over my computer. Is there an address where I can send a check? BTW - I feel your pain, both my father and his father died of Colon Cancer. I don't want to cause panic - this was in the days before colonoscopys, and my father did not believe in doctors. I never met my grandfather, but we have come a long way medically.
Mike donation made and prayers for all your family. Also you are not listed as a team member so I left that field blank.
Mr. Bucy, Donation and prayers sent for your son and his family. I pray he recovers fully. Vet (Navy)
I shared the fundraiser on my Nextdoor page, and I plan to leave a note mentioning support from the V8Buick "family." Hoping for a good outcome.
Not to hijack the thread, but I found out yesterday that my niece Amy also has Colon Cancer. The good news is that she has a Colonoscopy regularly, and they found it early. The outlook is good, but of course she will have to have surgery soon. The sick irony of this is that she is a practicing MD.
Cancer sucks. I have had my little bout with it - skin Cancer on my scalp; as a kid I never wore hats. I said to the Doctor that if I had to have Cancer, I was happy that it was a minor Cancer. The Doctor looked straight into my eyes and said "There is no such thing as a minor Cancer".
When I would go for my treatments, I considered myself “lucky” if there is such a thing when you have cancer. One of my treatments there was a younger than me female, maybe early 30’s, getting her treatment, her husband or boyfriend held her hand thru the whole session, almost brought tears to my eyes You could see the love he had for her, I hope she has full remission!! And for EVERYONE battling cancer!!!!!
