My 71 Riviera stalls on me when ever I drive on the highway for more than 20 minutes. First there is a tugging and then it stalls. At first I thought it was a fuel filter issue but I replaced the paper filter with a glass filter. This stopped the stalling on short. It only happens in highway driving where gas is constantly being sent to the carburator for long periods of time. If it's not the fuel filter getting clogged could this be vapor lock? Does anyone have any sugestions because this is really making me miserable. I just want to be able to drive my car with confidence that I am not going to stall out somewhere.:ball:
could be fuel pump... or possible gas leak ---you smell any gas..? btw...when this happens ...whats your fuel level in the tank ...?? also ....does it start right up after dieing out ....or do you have to wait a while ...
