I recently came into a 4 speed trans I believe is a Saginaw 4 speed. Cast iron case.
    Need a site to identify.
    Any help appreciated.

The saginaw 4-speed is the only one with the reverse shift fork (3 -shift forks total) linkage on the side cover instead of the tail housing. HTH

    Thaks guys
I am trying to date this trans.Lots of info on Muncie, not too much on the saginaw.
    Took 455 with 4 speed from a 68 Skylar.

Jim, I think the 4-speed in a '68 350 was iron. Does it look like that skylark was originally a 4sp or was it a conversion? It's been so long since I had mine apart, 1988, I don't remember. :Dou: RV

This was a conversion. Large jagged hole in floor board hump, for shifter.
Everything else looks original, clutch pedals, linkage zbar, frame mounts. Fairly sure 68 didn't come with a 12 bolt post.
Trans is definately a Saginaw with the reverse lever, on the outside plate.
Case number is 338935, casting #
Tail shaft number 352254, casting #
    cover casting number is 626183
    Shifter is original Hurst.
Lots of good parts on thei car, especially sheet metal, glass, bumpers. Don't ask about grille, there are two and unable to make one out of both. I will be listing some parts here for sale. I am going to same other parts for BOP Swap meet in March.

How good is the rear clip, does it have any rust holes, etc, I may be interested if it is really nice for my GS350, with original engine, .030, and being a orginal 4sp, you probably remember the car from BG in '88 or '89, I didn't get the car painted but had repop qtrs on it, with DP-40 and it's still that way today, when I got the '68 GS 400 Convt in '90. The 350 project sits, and it's to bad, it was a good car other than the rear quarters, but even the repops are rusting as the car, so sad to say has had to sit outside! let me know, thanks R
