I think the problem might be with the resistor (?) on the firewall. It should be about 1.5-2 inches long, maybe 1 inch wide, and 3/4 inch thick, white ceramic with 2 electrical prongs. If I recall correctly, when these go, the engine spins over, but will not start. It has been over 10 years since I owned a Mopar though.......

The Pertroniks units and maybe also the MSD (not sure) need to power up for a few seconds before they'll operate. Think like starting a cold diesel...Turn the key on and wait 5-10 seconds to start it.

If that doesn't work, isolate the MSD box and hot wire 12 v directly to the coil, again waiting 5-10 seconds to energize the electronics in the Pertroniks conversion. If that works, work backwards through the system. If you have a tach, isolate that, too. MSD boxes fry tachs if not connected correctly.

Can you tell us EXACTLY how you have the MSD box hooked up? The lead from the ignition switch only turns the box on. The only wires to the coil should come from the box. The Pertronics red lead should also hook to the ignition switch lead. The Black Pertronics hooks to the white MSD lead. Are you losing the voltage when you crank the engine?
