Hello All, Just "took delivery" of the 2nd Buick I've owned. My first was when I was 18. It was a '93 Century. I just took delivery of a '74 Apollo. It needs some work but it's in good shape. Especially for it's age. Had the debate with a few people and I always leave it with "the car is almost 40 years old, what do you expect?" Well, as time goes on I'm planning on doing a lot of work to it to make it mine and I'm sure I'll be turning to all you enthusiasts and experts for tips and tricks.
Welcome to the site. I too am new and just picked up my first Buick, 1973 Apollo. Glad to see some more Apollo owners coming in. If you need any parts for yours let me know I have a hood and front bumper that I wont be using and a few other Apollo parts as well.
im one of them ou: would this happen to be the apollo that was on the flagstaff craigslist? "old pueblo" is on the board also, we go out to sir from time to time, actually we are going out to have a grudge match on march 19th, you should stop by. pm me and ill shoot you my cell number. you might have seen ours cars around town, i have a badly faded paint 87 gn on black t-type wheels and a yellow 72 skylark, he has a copper/orange metallic 70 skylark w/ gsx stripes. regards buickbert

Have a question for all you Buick guys. My Apollo has something on the firewall and I haven't got a clue what it is. On the driver side between the break booster and the inner fender is a small box. It appears to be factory (so don't think it's and aftermarket thing.) It's small and seems to have a "button" or rubber bumper or something on it. The only other thing on it is the word start. If this isn't the right place for this post, please let me know where to post it. Thanks.
I think if you posted this question with a picture on "the bench" you probably could get an answer a little faster. There is quite a few Apollo guys on here that should be able to help you out.:TU:
Welcome to the site, There is an "x body" section just for apollos and late model skylarks, pos all your question there or search that section and you will find everything you need. Louie
Sorry man :Smarty: but remember my convertor is a really loose 10". When I put it on a chassis dyno, after the first run the operator asked if I had a real loose convertor because it didn't seem to hook up on the top end. Engine dyno was 503, but chassis dyno was only 354 (or so) While cruising the highway, even with only a 3.55 rear is a pain at 65+ mph, I take the car to the line with a 950 double pumper and just mash it from idle with no bog what so ever. I get pretty good 60' times too. I think in the next couple of weekends, I'll get in the 1.5 range and deeper into the 11.80's. Yeah, my mph is never that high , but I just care about the ET
Add me to the list. 73 Apollo. 55,000 miles. Purchased new by my better halfs grandmother. 350 2 barrel column shift auto. Cheap nasty repaint, cracked dash top, very rough door panels. Drives beautifully with ice cold air. Immediate future is real brakes/wheels/tires and fuel injection. Will be needing lots of advice. Also in AZ. Paul Yaw Yawpower/Injectordynamics
WELCOME ABOARD to ANOTHER Arizonian! Glad to see you found the site Paul. You too AZApollo (with no name given). Stay cool down there in that summertime triple digit heat area. Here's hoping we get a good monsoon season this year. Could use the moisture & the cooling effect state wide, that's for sure. Jim :bglasses:
Welcome! We just picked up a '72 GS from Tuscon. How are the rest of my Arizonian fellas enjoying the heat? Feels like it could use to be another good 10 degrees hu?
