So….after reupholstering the driver seat (haven’t done passenger side yet) I realized I didn’t install the two plastic tubes for the headrest. so my question to the forum is, do I leave as is and run no headrests or try to undo the new covers and foam and figure out how to install the headrest tubes? let me know what you think. Install or not install? Reference, this is is a 70 GS Stage 1 that is not numbers matching and the headrests are original (from another car) each have a slight crack at bottom. So driver quality. Haven’t cleaned them up yet. Thanks!
It is very easy to release the sides of a bucket seat top cover so you have access to the headrest area. There is no need to take the entire cover off the frame. The time to put the plastic slides in is now before you do the other seat. Otherwise it will be more work to fix later. Duane
Looks good. Doesn’t feel too bad. I’m more concern with sitting higher now with new springs and foam. But it’s been probably 8 yrs since I’ve sat In The driver seat. Too long of restoration. yeah, I know easier to fix now. My only concern is that the headrests are not as nice as the new seat covers. One has more of a crack than I thought in back corner which I can use as passenger headrest. I don’t know how to fix it. And don’t want to buy black ones and try to color match. Let along have paint bleed off on me.
