    Hello,
Im doing a head swap, cam upgrade, intake this weekend. Is regular silicone sealer the correct item to use on the head bolts? The ones that pass into the block water passages. If not what do you all use? This is on my 327 chevy aka the boogie box. Sorry its almost a buick. Dont shoot me!Thanks everyone! Drew :blast:

When you buy a new set of head bolts for a sbc, they come with teflon (liquid) on the threads(depending on whose you get). All the head bolts go into water in the block - make sure you use 'something'. Not too sure I'd use silicone - that's just my opinion, though.

I use Felpro pli-a-seal or permatex no. 2 (non-hardening) on the chev head bolts.
