    Any GTO enthusiasts out there?
    A friend of mine is looking at a 67 GTO and wants to decode the cowl tag. There are a couple things we couldn't figure out.

    trim code: 221-B....what does the the B?
    below the trim code is E 2EB....I believe this is accesories...but what?
    I attached a picture of the tag.
    thanks

    The first 221-B means gold bucket seats...
    I'm going to guess that the 2nd B means it's a 3-speed stick on the floor.:3gears:

    thepartsman Back Ordered Again ?

    221 = Gold Vinyl Bucket Interior
    B = Bucket Seats ( Kansas City,Mo. and 2 other B.O.P. Plants used this code)

    Grp 1
    E = Tinted Glass ( All Windows )

    Grp 2
    E = A.C.
    B = 3spd Manual Floor Shift

    Okay, thanks! They are claiming original 4 speed M20, sounds like they are wrong.

    The add states: "This engine's serial number corresponds with the PHS report (#'s matching) The transmission is correct as well The 400 cube powerhouse V8 is mated to the Muncie 4-speed wide-ratio manual transmission."

    the picture of the block shows the stampings as: 454942 WT
    454942 shoud be the last 6 of the vin correct?
    WT code appears correct.
    thanks

    If you are thinking of buying the car, I think you should contact Pontiac Historical and get your own copy of the factory doccuments. Better safe than sorry.

    A friend from work was looking at it. From what I have learned about the car so far, it is not as orignial as they are advertising. No need to contact PHS on this one, but thanks for hte tip.
