Does anyone know the measurenents for correctly mounting the GSX spoiler. It's already mounted I just want to know if whoever mounted it did it right.'
If the lower ends of the spoiler line up with quarter panels, and the spoiler is centered from side to side, then it's pretty much good to go. Also, the lower ends of the spoiler supports are curved to match the trunk lid, so it only fits in one place front to back.
I will echo that. The posts are molded to the shape of the trunk lid so movement front to back is basically none. And left to right movement will be dictated by centering it on the quarters.
The OP did not specify whether he meant the front or rear spoiler. I'm wondering which one he is asking about.
And thats why they call you the Wizzard! You're probably right. Here's the 71-72 instructions which are simlar to 70 <img src="http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w75/cstanley444/V8Buick/SpoilerInstall-1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo SpoilerInstall-1.jpg"/>
Good point, I just assumed he meant the rear. If the OP meant the front one, use the instructions posted above and make sure you put the lower fender bolts BEHIND the existing fender brace bolts. It does NOT use the fender brace bolts. I see a lot of guys try to use that brace bolt, and it pushes the spoiler too far forward, make it impossible to fit it to the front bumper and core support brace correctly.
You're exactly right. I have mine on the existing bolts of the fender braces. I had to drill a hole in the hood latch support in the center. I have just the 3 bolts. Never installed a center brace. Its still pretty sturdy, no flapping at higher speeds <img src="http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w75/cstanley444/GS455/DSC03207.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSC03207.jpg"/>
I'm about to install a rear spoiler. Maybe one of my fellow Buick lovers would be so kind as to post a pic or two of the underside of the deck lid once installed. Any and all info is appreciated!
