  2. In and effort to reduce the spam on the site, several years ago I had went to a program where I manually approve each and every new registration. This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy.. Just send an email to me at jim@trishieldperformance.com and I will verify your registration. This policy will remain in effect indefinitely, as it has completely eliminated the bad actors from our site, who would spam and hack it, once they gained access. Thanks JW

Hello.... I got my new apprasial for my '71 GSX and in the apprasial it states the GSX Registry showed 27 registered cars. I haven't been on the GSX registry site in a while because everytime I looked at it the information was outdated by several years. Anyone out there have any current numbers on 1970 and 1971's? Surely there are a few more legit GSX's out there somewhere in the world. I wonder if there will be a new updated Registry in the future? Anyway I hope to be at the Nats next weekend and maybe chat with a few GSX owners but it looks iffy with the extended weather forecast here. It usually rains when I want to get it out and cruise :af: Thanks

Yeah, I have a '70 Q/Q that I haven't registered yet. I need to do a restoration on it the from the ground up. Money is standing in the way. Once I get rolling, I'll probably get it registered as well. I've had this since '74.

71 GSX, where in ky are you located? I live in Owensboro. There is 2 '70GSX's in town here. Heard one was possibly being sold to a guy in the Northeast.

I operate the GSX registry and it is true that the website has not been updated in a few years. The GSX registry is still there but there has not been much change in the last few years. After the initial push there has only been a few cars a year trickle in. I know for sure there are more cars out there but I can't force people to register a car. I have been told by more than one person that they will not register their car. The registry is only a reflection of those who are willing to give information. My hope is to update the website and spend a little more time with it but the last few years my real job has taken a serious toll on my free time and it has been a struggle to do the limited amount I have done. In a perfect world the registry would be updated all the time but then again I don't live in a perfect world. I'm not making excuses, I am telling you how it really is. I still love the cars and the car hobby, but my involvement has been greatly diminished due to the demands of other things in my life.

I don't know who you got your appraisal from but I find it intersting that they are using my site as a guideline without consulting with me directly about the information presented. If you are using the "Auto Appraisal Group" I hope you had a better expereince then I did. I paid them $300 about a year ago to have them tell me that my frame-off restored, numbers matching 1970 GSX was worth 36K. When I called them to ask them why the number was so low they told me that was what cars were selling for. When I pointed out that cars were selling for more than that on E-Bay they indicated that was not a good resource. When I told them cars were selling for more than that at auction the told me the same thing. When I told them the NADA blue book showed more than that they indicate it is not always accurate. When I asked them what they did use to determine the price of the car they could not give me any specific information. Honestly, I don't think they have a clue and I feel like it was a waste of my money to have hired them.

I was just courious about the Registry. I just figgured maybe the lack of new info coming in stalled the site or the people running the site may have non-car related issues like workload or health reasons that put it on the backburner for a while. I have never had a classic car appraised before. Hell I probably got ripped but my agent from Shelter said if anything happened to the GSX it would be covered for the $49,700 the apprasial stated. I almost never drive it so I am not concerned alot about collision damage.Okay maybe I am but it is on the road only about 5% of the time. I average 150-300mi a year and those are within the local area where I live. My Mobil 1 oil doesn't get much of a workout between Spring oil changes. My main concern is fire or storm damage when it is stored in my garage. I am just courious to how many legit/non-cloned/50-100% original/survivor or restored to original spec '70-'72 GSX's that are still around. I guess the older the cars get the more I want to know about them. Thanks

    Ky weather

Springtime in KY works like this.....If you wash and wax it the rain will come. If you wash and wax it and decide to stay home the rain will turn away at the last minute and bring sunshine. If you bring sunscreen and shorts it will be hot on Friday and sleet on Saturday. If you bring coats and sweaters it will be hot as hell all weekend. Use a weather rock and ignore the weatherman. If the rock is wet....rain/if the rock is dry....no rain/if you cant see the rock...it's night or the flood from the rain washed it away.
