Hey what's up everyone. I was just wondering if any of you know what a 68 GS400 might run in the quarter. Right now, it's being rebuilt (has a spun bearing)but when it's done I wanna take it to the strip to see what she'll do!

According to the Car Life Road test I have, a 68 GS 400 with the THM-400 and 3.91 posi ran a 14.4 @93 MPH, 0-60 took 6.1 seconds. This was done on street tires with the obvious wheelspin. The car had no A/C and manual brakes, had a curb weight of 3648, and a test weight of 4030 lbs.

My '68 GS 400 Convertible 4-speed, weighed 3968 at the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags in September 2003, .030 over, stock cam, 2.5 exhaust, 3.42 posi, red line Goodyear 14" repro tires. 14.53. Best ever was a 14.26 in some majorly good air a couple of years ago! RV

I have a 1969 review of a '69 GS400 Convert. with open 2.93 rear (standard gearing) and TH400 and it went 15.80 in the quarter.....

    .....in 1993 I bought my '69 GS400 Convert with 2.93 rear and TH400 with 89,000 miles on it.....3 weeks later I ran a 15.83

 Not bad for a 23 year old car

I think mine ran low 15's with the stock motor, 85k miles, rings were really bad so I'm sure that power was down.

I've kept it stock appearing, but the motor is a 455 with Stage 1 heads and a 230-245 cam. It's run 13.22 at 104 on 225R14 Firestone Firehawks.

I bought my 69 GS 400 new in feb 1969,that summer in bone stock trim it ran 14.6's on 14" bias tires, with a 4 speed and 3.64 gears it was real traction challenged.Currently in stock trim with the same type tires but with a blueprinted motor and JB 200 cam it goes 14.2's.
