Hi Guys, I saw the thread that Nicholas Sloop started with the Buick vs. Hemi magazine article. This reminded me of a GS 400 Stage II drag test magazine article from July '69 Motorcade magazine that I thought some of you might like to see, if you already haven't. Thing is, the scans are gi-normous, and even if they're resized it doesn't help because you can't really read the article. So, I'm just wondering if you guys don't care about the print quality and just want to see the pictures in the article. They're cool, nonetheless.
Glen - Check THIS out! I don't know if it's the same article or not, but if your's is different we'd all like to see it. Thanks! :TU:
Marco, Yeah, my article is different, from the July '69 issue of Motorcade. It looks almost like the exact same car from those other articles that Alan W. posted. Perhaps it was a press vehicle that was shuffled from mag to mag? There are some different pics of the car in this article. Actually, I'll post it regardless. If you guys can read the print, great! If not, I'm sorry!o No: Just have to wait until tonight, though. I don't have the scans here at school. ou:
Im waiting with baited breath !! I think that was Pop Kennedy's car - Gary ?? can you shed any info on the car in the article I posted ?? (Whats baited breath anyways ??)
AND the caps for the GS....Nicely Done:TU: I think his article is different than the two I posted. I've also been looking hard for the follow-up article mentioned at the end about testing the StageII package at the track but to no avail. o No: Who Knows o No: maybe this new article IS that follow-up but under a different magazine title ??
I believe you are right about being Pop Kennedy's car.The car was sponsered by Reynolds Buick in West Covina,Calif. I remember reading that article and the buildup that was done on the car.Very interesting article on a very rare car.
Page 1 Here's page one... if you have any suggestions about scan quality or resizing, I'm all ears! I can't figure out how to resize it without making it hardly legible. But anyways... Enjoy!
