I will be getting my '67 GS 400 engine back from the builder shortly and I have a question regarding break in. Some of my buddies are telling me you need to start it and run it at a certain RPM for 15, 20 or 30 minutes to properly break it in. Others tell me to just install it and go - basically, don't beat on it for 500 miles. This engine rebuild is fairly basic with only a mild Comp Cam and a few other bits. Otherwise, it's pretty stock. Can you guys share some of your advice? I really want to break this in right and don't want to deal with having to fix it a again soon. Thanks!
