Has anyone seen Greg Gesslers 72 GS in hot rod magazine? Talk about BAD TO THE BONE. 200 mph speedo!!!! The car runs 11.50 @ 121 on polyglas tires, yet it's nice enough to be a show car. I'm in AWE. :eek2: :eek2: -Kevin
Kevin - I've seen Gregs car in person several times at the track - and having done so, what really freaks me out is how quiet and mellow his car is while idling. You would never EVER know its such a screamer down the track !! ....but that alone isn't enough to get those kind of times he posts again and again - Greg is an Extremely Compitent driver in total tune with his machine He sure does give us something to be proud about over here at Team TriShield :TU:
I'm curious... Has Greg ever uncorked the exhaust and put some slicks on the car? If so, what were the results?
He's stated to me his car is tuned for the polyglas tires and exhaust, and a different tire/exhaust combination would require a total change in tuning, or possibly a change in parts (rear, touque converter). He really is 'at one' with his car :TU:
I don't doubt that a bit. He's made some astonishing accomplishments with that car. I was just curious if he's ever tried it. I would think all the tuning in the world isn't going to hook an 11 second car on those tires. But I've never seen him run. Maybe he does hook?
At Bristol Greg pulled a string of low 1.7 60ft times. Incredible considering most other SA cars are pulling mid 1.8's to high 1.9's:TU:
Thanks for the support, its appreciated. Alan, I took notes from Chevy Chase in CADDYSHACK... "See the car....Be the car... mmmm..make the car." I have not had slicks on my car in 3 or 4 years. Best run with slicks was 11.44 @ 117 back in 1989 or something. (except for the 4.10 gears it was a real drive anywhere street car) If anyone want to buy some used slicks, call me. I have 28.5 x 10.5 and 26x10. CHEAP!
