As far as I can tell most if not all are from Edgewater. I raced there 3 years ago. Nice scenic park like setting. Nice stands, but watch out for the WILDLIFE!!!! I had to slam on the brakes on the top end to avoid hitting a DEAR!!!!

Gotta love those cars. Amazing how many Opels there were, even a Manta there at the end. All the mid-70's pro-stock greats too. If you want to know where Jack Roush cut his teeth, check out the 4-door Maverick he ran with Wayne Gapp. Brings back alot of memories for me. I still have a ton of slides that I took at the 76 AHRA Nationals at KCIR. Used a fake Photographers pass to get up close and personal that weekend (AHRA was pretty laid back at the time. Nothing like the 30 lbs of neckware you have to drag around at the NHRA meets these days). Got to stand right next to Jim Kelly, the official AHRA Photographer for most of the event. Almost got run over by a Mustang Funny car that hit the guardrail after a sudden right turn about 100 feet past the tree. Man I had a good time!

The orange Buick was campaigned by the husband/wife team of Carl and Connie Lackey. I think they were from the Ohio area. The blue and white GS was owned and driven by Dick Baker from Columbus, Ohio. Dick passed on a few years ago, he was sponsored by Wendy's and Len Imke Buick.

I think I remember seeing that car at Maple Grove in Reading Pa back in the late 70's early 80's at a Stock Super Stock meet.

These pics bring back some great memories.

There's ANOTHER GS, pic on Page 13. JPG 1078, that looks like Bobby Baker's 71 GS.

I also recognize a few Canadian cars that may have competed at NHRA's Molson Grandnationals. One is on JPG 983, depicting the Montreal based Action Performance ProStock Duster.

    Gotta love those Willy's gassers.

Most are Edgewater. Many look like they were taken at Indy. Probably the US Nationals in the late 70's since Grumpy's Toy tube chassis was there.

In the 80's there was a red GS, (stock eliminator) with "Liquid Launch" sponsor on the door at Edgewater. I wonder what happened to that car.

The guy who owns Edgewater is more than a little bit of a jerk. Edgewater was supposed to be sold to Pro Mod racer Steve Engel a few years ago but the owner backed out. Engel bought a lot of land a few miles away to build his own track but never got the zoning in line. Unfortunately Engel died a few weeks after wrecking his car at the US nationals this year.

The owner of Edgewater used to own D&J Automotive. They used to be a premier engine builder in the 60's and 70's. A lot of the old drag racing pictures of that era show a "D&J" sticker on the car.

I noticed the Action duster as well I don't know why I thought Action was a Toronto shop. what other Canadian cars did you spot. I am always looking for anything Drag Dimensions / Thrush or Karbelt related.

I can't get back ito view them, but I remember seeing the Sandy Elliot's Mustang (back half painted in zebra strips) that was a Cdn. campaigner.

There was a pic of a NHRA Stock class 69 Camaro behind a 65 Chevelle pic that was also Action performance sponsored. The owner is wearing an Action Performance t shirt. Believe his name was des Trois Maison also from the Montreal area.

I've seen both compete regularily cars at Sanair & Napierville dragstrips.

That was a great trip, thanks for the memories. Saw alot of those car in race action at the time. I was just a Kid, My Uncle raced Stock Eliminator. Ordered two GS's new one in 65 and then 66 raced them both and won alot of trophys. Held National record for three years in late 70's running a Pontiac Ventura. My first car was his old 66 GS with 48,000 + miles on it. Wish I still had that car in the condition it was then.
